Contra Dance: Breakers Yard with Isaac Banner calling - November 9 2019
Breakers Yard is the Willamette Valley’s most eclectic acoustic band. Sampling from ragtime, country blues, jug band, hot jazz, and delta blues traditions, they do everything from Lindy Hop dances to cowboy ballads to bootie-shakin’ dance parties. You can find their most recent albums I Don’t Hurt Anymore and Tried and Untrue at shows and digitally on CD Baby, or you can pay them a visit at www.breakersyardmusic.com. Break it down!
Isaac Banner: I've been doing contra since I was a young one and have written dances for a few years. I started calling contra dances in the Pacific Northwest in early 2016. Since then I've been graced with excellent mentoring from the talented calling community both in and outside the Seattle area. With a soft cadence and a warm air to my calling and a cheerful personality, I strive to bring moments of magic into the lives of newcomers and veteran dancers. I've always loved contra and I carry that love with me to every dance I visit.
