Contra Dance: Treehouse with Rich Goss calling - October 12 2019

Treehouse features Bo Leyden (mandolin, banjo, flute), Shari Ame (fiddle), Benjamin Young (winds and guitar), and Rachael Young (keyboard), and Kevin Craven (fiddle). Between them they bring a mix of Irish, Quebecois, and New England style, and put it together with Pacific Northwest flair. Bo has been a longtime contradance musician and dancer, and currently operates Calliope Musicworks, constructing and repairing stringed instruments. Becky has played for dances throughout Vermont, New Jersey, Arizona, and California, and previously played with Amazon Creek in Eugene. Ben and Rachael come from the Irish traditional session background, having played with many groups across Canada and throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. Kevin Craven comes to the Willamette Valley from Hawaii where he played many years in classical music settings and played extensively for contra as well! Here in Corvallis, Kevin keeps a busy schedule with violin students, playing in the OSU Symphony and as a member of several local bands.

Rich Goss has called dances from Vancouver, BC to San Diego, CA to Houston, TX, for events ranging from large to small, novice to experienced. He enjoys calling fun accessible dances with a clear concise teaching style. Always with a good natured, easy going style.
