Saturday Contra dance! Thyme Travelers with Rich Goss calling

Event:  23-Feb-2019

“Thyme Travelers” - Jennifer Sordyl, fiddle; Norman Farrell, mandolin and woodwinds; & Don Berg, guitar. Performing an eclectic mixture of Contra, Old-time, Celtic & Swing-dance tunes. Fiddle, mandolin, saxophone, whistles, and jazz guitar to thrill the senses.

Our friendship cemented over late night jam sessions at music camp and continued into early morning coffee jaunts. After independently relocating to the Pacific Northwest, we're delighted to renew our musical enthusiasm for tunes from the realms today, yesterday and beyond.

Rich Goss was introduced to contra dancing in 1990 in Austin, Texas and was immediately hooked. He began calling dances in 1992 with the help of a good friend. At first he called at open mikes in Austin, later expanding to regular gigs. Now living in Portland, Rich calls, dances, and plays in contra bands in the Pacific Northwest. He enjoys calling fun accessible dances with a clear concise teaching style. Everyone appreciates his good nature and easy going style.
